à la mode™ takes everyday objects and transforms them into fashionable art-you-can-wear accessories for the body and the home. à la mode™ was born out of a creative passion and background in interior design and has grown from limited edition accessories to an imaginatively diverse collection of urban handbags, belts, light switch plates, hairpins, wall art and hair accessories. Each item, regardless of the fashion medium, draws influence from modern architecture, pop culture and the runway.
Every piece in the à la mode™ collection is carefully designed to ensure that function indeed meets fashion.
Bag it: Handbags come in a variety of rich upholstered fabrics, chic patterns and urban styles, with signature straps made from automobile seatbelts, striking the perfect balance between trendy and timeless. Durable fabrics, conveniently placed pockets, grommets, snaps, straps and folds are woven into each must-have bag.
Switch it: Handmade light switch plates turn any room up a notch in an array of hip themes and patterns – from a graphic “You are here” design to a pastel on-off “Playing” and “Sleeping” switch for baby’s room. Some plates make a political statement while others simply light up a room in style. Customized plates are particularly popular for kids’ rooms. All switch plates make great gifts that will be remembered with each use. à la mode™ switch plates are decoupaged by hand and designed to make the most of a utilitarian object. Kid tested and parent approved, they can make a statement or simply put a smile on your face.

our impact: We do our best to have minimal impact on our environment. We do this by using post-industrial scraps (i.e., seatbelts and upholstery and fabric remnants), all of which would be destined for the land fill. We also recycle paper and reuse shipping and packaging products. We aren't perfect, but are aware of our impact and taking baby steps to make our world better.
privacy policy: Any information submitted to à la mode will not be sold or released to a third party. Information collected is for the sole purpose of processing your order or communication with you.
newsletter: If you'd like to receive "STUFF", our bi-annual newsletter and/or seasonal promotions (~2 per year), please send and email to info@alamodestuff.com.
customization: Custom orders generally take 2-3 weeks to produce. From date of purchase, please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery. Please note that this time varies based on availabilty. If you need an item sooner, please email or call us and we'll do our best to accomodate. Custom orders may not be cancelled or returned.
ordering information: We use paypal, a leading provider of online transactions, for all our credit card processing. You do not have to have a paypal account to complete a transaction.

sales tax: We collect 7% sales tax on products shipped to the residents of rhode island. This is automatically added to your total.
gift wrap: à la mode offers free gift wrap. Please let us know that it is a gift, and we will wrap it for you.
returns and exchanges: Exchanges and returns can be made withing 30 days from receipt of merchandise. Merchandise must be unused and in its original condition. Shipping can not be refundable unless the item was damaged during original shipping. Custom orders are not returnable. Shipping charges will be applied in the case of exchange unless the exchange is due to an error on our part.
shipping: We ship priority mail through the US Postal Service. If an item is in stock, we will ship it the next business day. If an item is out of stock or no longer available, we will contact you via email. Shipping rates are below:
